The Collector program offers a wide variety of options to customize the behaviour to the needs of the network. Important features that largely affect the functionality of the program can be found in Basic Settings.
Changes made to the setup go into effect immediately. For most options, there is no need to restart NetInventory for the new changes to take effect.
Warning Even though the NetInventory.config file is a plain text XML document, resist the temptation to edit this file directly. The application performs no error checking on the .CONFIG file, so a badly formatted file might cause unpredictable results.
